GROUPS

Discipleship is the continual process of becoming the best versions of ourselves by participating in covenant relationships that cultivate in us the very things Jesus embodied, and the process of learning to embody love, mercy, and justice through intentional relationships. Groups are one way we do discipleship at Urban Village Church.

Life Groups: intentional groups of people committed to doing life together for 1 year in order to navigate the highs and lows of the faith journey and explore the Jesus way of living with others.

Small Groups: interest groups that meet regularly to discuss fascinating topics, articles, and life events.

All groups below are currently open. Take time to read the description and find the group that is right for you. For more information, email Director of Discipleship, Erin James-Brown.

In this 9-week small group we’ll be reading The Gospel in Solentiname, a collection of conversations about the life of Jesus Christ that took place in a campesino community living under an oppressive regime in 1970’s Nicaragua. We’ll read their perspectives on the gospels as a way of exploring liberation theology, a theology that arose in Latin America at the time.
